The ADE7880 from Analog Devices is a high accuracy, 3-phase electrical energy measurement IC with serial interfaces and three flexible pulse outputs. The device incorporates second-order sigma-delta (Σ-?) analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs), a digital integrator and reference circuitry. In addition this device has the signal processing required to perform energy measurement and rms calculations. A fixed function digital signal processor (DSP) executes this processing, with the DSP program being stored in the internal ROM memory. Features.
