The cables grey sheath is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride), which protects it from damage and provides insulation. It operates up to a temperature of +80°C. Thumbscrew-type fasteners on the SCSI cable assembly provide simple connection and prevent the lead becoming loose or disconnecting. Commonly used to connect IT hardware in offices, call centres and studios, this connector shields against radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
