The main purpose of the lockout is to restrict access to live contacts and reinsertion of fuses while maintenance and repairs are in progress. The RS PRO Fuse Lockout is fully adjustable to fit 20A to 100A fuse and uses an effective clamp system to grip the wall of the fuse holder without damage.How does this lock work?To install, open the toggle and open the inner jaw via the screw. Place the jaw over the wall of the holder and adjust the sliding cover to match the overall base length. Twist the toggle clockwise to tighten (it??s important not to overtighten, finger tight is ideal), close the toggle, quick check to make sure all is correct then secure with a safety padlock and tag. Why would you need a safety lockout?Lockouts are vital safety devices that should be used always to ensure a circuit breaker is not switched on inadvertently.
