This compression gland also provides a quick and convenient way of securing the probe at the correct immersion depth into the process it is measuring. Features and Benefits: This RS PRO compression fitting enables a secure connection of a probe into a thermowell or bulkhead They allow quick and easy adjustment of sensor immersion length and can save time and cost by allowing multiple sensor wires to pass through a feedthrough fitting for one element The gland also offers resistance to pressure applications making it ideal for challenging environments Manufactured from brass for durability and corrosion resistance, while the BSPT tapered thread ensures a tight seal Applications: A compression fitting or gland comprises of an outer compression nut and an inner compression ring or ferrule also called an ??olive?? The male thread of the fitting is screwed into the thermowell or bulkhead and the probe is then inserted into the aperture at the top of the fitting to the required length. The outer compression nut is then tightened which forces the olive to compress around the outer sheath of the probe, after which the probe is then held securely in place and a tight seal provided.
