They also protect cables in harsh environments. These flexible, clear, protective sleeves have a diameter of 3.05 mm and are made from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). PTFE is a particularly tough material as it resists corrosion and contamination and is highly heat-resistant. Youll find it in a variety of applications, including HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), manufacturing and food processing. Its also an excellent insulator and these cable sleeves have a dielectric strength of 45 kV/mm. The sleeving can be used at temperatures from -65°C to +260°C and has a melting point of +327°C. Its highly flame retardant, meaning that cables remain protected in the event of a fire, and halogen-free, so it wont release toxic gas.
