Theyre found in a wide range of applications, including automatic irrigation systems, food processing and pneumatic automation. The solenoid is an electromagnet consisting of a metal coil tightly wrapped around a solid metal core. Its housed in a plastic casing and terminated with a 3-pin DIN plug for assembly with the valve (DIN stands for Deutsches Institut für Normung, or the German Institute for Standardisation). It takes a power supply voltage of 220 V AC with power consumption of 5 VA. Part of the RS PRO range, this coil has been stringently tested for reliability.
